Classroom Construction for the Rosa Soriano School in the community of La Cuesta del Guayabo.
Geographical Location:
The unified municipalities for North Choluteca consist of 4 municipalities: Pespire, San Jose, San Antonio de Flores, and San Isidro, forming the Northern Department of Choluteca.
The submitted project will be implemented in the San Jose Municipality of Choluteca and will directly benefit the community of La Cuesta del Guayabo, Coraycito village that is found 11 kilometers west of the municipality. Access to this area is only available from the highway during the dry season and during the rainy season transit to the community can be made through La Venta village in the Francisco Morazan Department.

General Description of the Project
The project to be completed is that of the construction of a modulated school building for the attendance of 41 children between the ages of 6 and 14 in first to sixth grade from three communities. This school has been functioning for 8 years in the deplorable and anti- pedagogy conditions that it is found currently. The construction of this project is urgent because the governments have never done anything to improve the education of this community through the construction of a new school building in this sector of the country. The school children are at risk of heat strokes in the dry season and at risk of not receiving classes during the rainy season because of the building’s poor state.
Justification:
The construction of this school center is intended to improve the pedagogy conditions and to provide an improved educational environment for the children of this community. Currently, the school only has one teacher for first through sixth grade and it is hoped that with the construction of an amplified school building, the school will receive the accompaniment of an additional teacher to better attend the school children.
OBJECTIVES
General Objective: To improve the physical pedagogy of the community school in La Cuesta del Guayabo.
Specific Objective: Construction of two classrooms with the dimension of 130 square mts. with the physical labor provided through the support of the community.
Mode of Project’s Implementation
The community along with the Communal Patronato will be in charge of the implementation of the project in which the community will provide the general labor.
