  • Stage two: construction work.
  • Stage three: Finish construction.
General Description of Project

The project consists of the perimeter fence construction circling around the Luis Landa Kindergarten in the center of the community of Esquimay.
Currently, this school building does not have a fence to provide protection and security to the school’s attending students.

Justification

This school building was built 10 years ago through the financing of Fondo Hondureno de Inversion Social (FHIS).  Currently, the fence that protects this educational center is already in poor conditions.  When the construction was done, they did not use the necessary materials to allow the work to endure well.  They constructed the fence with concrete posts, which were buried in the ground and used a sharp wire point, which one by one are falling because the posts were buried directly into the ground without any reinforcements.
There is not a perimeter fence circling the educational center.  This allows intruders to damage the infrastructure of the educational center (draw on/scratch the paint from the walls, cut down the trees, steal materials and equipments).
Furthermore, they cannot reforest the grounds surrounding the school because animals easily enter and destroy the planted trees.
Without a fence, the school is at the risk of adults who can arrive and interrupt the activities of the school grounds.

Beneficiaries

With the reconstruction of this fence, we will benefit a total of 70 students that receive classes at the primary level.

Objectives

General Objective:

  • Provide security to the existing infrastructure and the school children through the construction of the perimeter fence.

Specific Objective:

  • Construct a perimeter fence of 400 square meters.
  • Anticipated Impact

Providing a perimeter fence to the building in which the primary school functions, that offers protection and security to the school children in their various activities.
